The main destination at that time was Germany. The company has continued to trade in game meats and at times has also supplied sheep, beef and goat meats, in small amounts to service requirements of individual customers. The company is a registered meat exporter, Aus- Meat accredited and holds E.U. sheep meat quota for the supply of sheep meat to E.U. countries. The core business of the company remains Game meat, ( Kangaroo, Wild Boar, Emu, Crocodile, Venison and Donkey ) which will account for around Aud 4.5 Million Dollars of sales in the current financial year. The company is family owned with James Harwood and son, Craig Harwood being directors and sole shareholders in the company. O.G.M.E. has both its own field operations and processing plant to ensure that the Kangaroo Meat supplied has been both sourced and processed to the highest standards. Kangaroos are sourced only from accredited hunters who have both National Parks and Wildlife Service permits and who are accredited with the Queensland Livestock and Meat Authority as Game Meat Field Harvesters. Within the production plant strict Q.A. procedures are continued to ensure that the animals are processed to the highest standards and that we are able to present a wholesome product to our customers. We operate under a H.A.C.C.P. based Q.A. programme and will seek ISO 9002 accreditation this year. O.G.M.E. seeks to be an innovative producer of game meat and game meat based products. We see the controlled growth of our industry being essential for Australian's to be able to manage our fragile environment for generations to come.
