CQ NATIVE FLOWER ASSOC - Preserved Flowers
Central Queensland Native Flower Association (CQNFA) growers began diversifying into preserving flowers two years ago. Today, five factories are producing 15 different species in various colours.
Two producers have joined forces to provide a beautiful display of flowers to suit the theme of Floral Gems from Queensland.
Hillbilly Flower Farm and Downunder Flower Farm are located near Emerald, Central Queensland, an area that is rich with Sapphire gems.
The Floral Gem range is flowers and foliage grown in Central Queensland which are harvested, preserved and coloured to capture the brillant colours of Central Queensland and the gemstones found in the surround areas. Supple and colourful is how many describe these preserved flowers. They are flexible, not brittle and easily washable in water.

Hillbilly Flower Farm covers five acres and is part of 'Rob-Mar-Lou', a 5000 acre cattle property. The farm grows several varieties of native and traditional flowers. Their main crops are Kangaroo Paw, Riceflower, Sholtzia and Limoniums.

Downunder Flower Farm is six acres on 'Mt Ogg', a 60,000 acre cattle property. This farm grows Ptilotus, Kangaroo Paw, Riceflower, Limoniums and Cassinea as their main crops.
